WORLDLY TASTES

Embark on a journey of diverse flavours at our Worldly Tastes session.  Introduce yourself to products inspired by foods celebrated around the globe, while you learn not only of their origins but also the beautiful traditions and rituals that make them special.

Sample the globally-inspired offerings from these talented producers:

Planta - Planta, a sparkling tea beverage, is made from the dried and smoked leaves of the Mate plant native to South America.  It is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and it has been used for centuries to nourish and sustain people in their daily lives.

Maison Aotearoa - inspired by life in France and the traditional art of preserving meat.  Mike and Julie make French delicacies such as rillettes and pâtés. They believe the finest products on Earth should be kindest to both Earth and those consuming them.  Drawing on the centuries-old, tried, tested and loved methods of the Basque Country France, Mike and Julie naturally preserve and present the finest preserved meats in Aotearoa.  Every exquisite taste connects their customers to the traditions of sustainability and culture. Get an authentically French experience when you taste their offerings.

Piccolo Morso Bakery - Kamal and Julia, owners since 2021 are very much hand-on in their bakery. Julia, who carries the legacy of being a third-generation baker, utilises cherished family recipes to create the bakery’s irresistible offerings. Their global culinary inspirations are evident in their award-winning Korma Pie, freshly baked focaccia, and an array of  gelato flavours, such as the beloved Mango Lassi, all made with their authentic Italian gelato machine.

MK Spice - Marlaina is all about helping us to create restaurant dishes at home with her Jerk Seasoning, inspired by traditional Jamaican rubs and marinades.  Find out some simple flavour tips to create out of this world dishes!

Food Hugger Gourmet - creating American BBQ sauces and rubs inspired by their travels around the world, their aim is to make food fun…..and extra tasty!

LWF Rum - Rum, with its rich history and diverse flavour profiles is a versatile spirit that has been a part of culinary traditions across the globe, particularly in regions like the Caribbean, Latin America and Southeast Asia.  Taste Janet’s variety of rum flavours and learn some tips on how to create the perfect rum cocktails at home - Mojito, Pina Colada or Daiquiri anyone?

KP’s Beef Jerky - Kevin’s jerky, available in two delectable varieties—classic original and fiery spicy piri piri—is crafted from the finest, freshest ingredients. Honed over two decades, his recipe comes to life in small, carefully managed batches within a modern, specially designed facility nestled in the serene town of Oākura.

Honey Bear Gourmet Granola - Granola, originating in the United States, has become a popular breakfast food, largely due to its healthy ingredients.  Michelle Yandle, a nutrition professional, has created her own range using a selection of slow roasted nuts, coconut and dates.  With olive oil as an alternative to coconut oil to create an earthy flavour and maple syrup (a Canadian thing!) instead of honey, Michelle will be happy to give you a taste test and also discuss why she was inspired to make this beautiful product.
